IIT-Delhi start-up launched reusable mask
The Startup of IIT Delhi has created an antimicrobial face mask that can be cleaned and reused for 50 times. The Nano safe Solutions at IIT Delhi has formulated the masks to battle against COVID-19.
About the mask
The mask contains three layers namely inner hydrophilic layer that gives comfort by soaking up moisture and sweat. This lowers breathing of the wearer. The second layer has antimicrobial activity and the outermost layer has water and oil repellent behaviour. The mask is furthermore splash resistant. Splash resistance is the potential of the mask to overcome in rain as well. In simple words, the mask and its layers will do the same task in rain as well.
The NSAFE face mask furnishes 99.2% of bacterial filtration. This is the initial fabric-based face mask that is antimicrobial and washable. The mask acknowledges ASTM standards. It was formerly recognized as American Society for Testing and Materials. It is a worldwide standards organization that formulates and publishes specialized standards for equipment, services and products. The headquarters of the organization is located in Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1898.
